The Aquarium is an ultra modern live music venue in Lowestoft, featuring an impressive line-up of bands, two fun bars, and a great atmosphere.
The most striking and unusual aspect of the Aquarium is it's location: the Lowestoft beach, in the Claremont Pier pavilion. Sitting on a gorgeous sandy stretch of beach on the Suffolk coast, the pier is an attraction in and of itself, boasting a restaurant, arcade, tea room, and the Aquarium.
The Aquarium has the capacity for 850 people, and is the host to a large raised stage, replete with the latest advancements in audio and lighting. The sound quality of the club is phenomenal, a testament to good equipment, acoustics, and professional sound engineering.
At the back of the main hall, opposite the stage, a long bar serves the very best wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. There is even a lovely spot with built in booths and tables for chilling out before or during the show.
Of course, a live venue is only as good as the shows it puts on. Since opening in 2013, the Aquarium has hosted a wide-ranging array of acts including De La Soul, Alexander O'Neil, Big Country, Dub Pistols, the Darkness, and DJ's such as Trevor Nelson, Judge Jules, Danny Rampling.
The Zoo, a bar/venue inside the Aquarium, has a stunning interior for any occasion, accommodating up to 260 people it's ideal for any party or event. The Zoo bar is licensed 'til 2.00.a.m. with full D.J. facilities, quiet areas with intimate seating booths, state of the art lighting, plasma screens, air conditioning, and a fully stocked bar with all the latest premium brands. The premium facilities at the Zoo and the Aquarium are both available for hire.
All things considered, the Aquarium is a great place to see a live band or book your own event. Remember to check here often for some of the excellent live music near you!
